PRAYER/ DISCUSSION GROUP This group meets weekly on Monday mornings at 10 AM. We share the prayers lifted at worship on Sunday and study books on a variety of devotional, Bible and current events topics. All are welcomed to join in as able.
CHOIR Meets one evening weekly for practice and shares special music every Sunday morning, during special services, and performs Easter and Christmas Cantatas. There are no auditions. Interested members sing at the Ocean Grove Choir Festival every July.
BELL CHOIR Meets one evening weekly and shares special music monthly during worship. Beginners are welcomed as well as experienced ringers.
OTHER WORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES Includes reading scripture, liturgist, designing visual displays for the altar, coordinating weekly flower donations for the altar, helping with the music library.
LENTEN AND ADVENT STUDIES Meets weekly in the evenings during the weeks before Easter and Christmas using devotional materials and DVDs. The Lenten Study includes a Simple Soup Supper each gathering. |
WOMEN’S RETREAT For members and guests held every fall with a guest speaker and meal at a nearby venue.
WOMEN’S METHODIST FELLOWSHIP WMF sponsors “Girls’ Night Out” at various restaurants, an annual Christmas party for all the women of the church, and an occasional church wide bus trip to places like Sight and Sound, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
MEN’S BREAKFAST Meets every month as a time for men to gather for fellowship and study.
LEADERSHIP Opportunities to serve on church committees.
MISSION AND OUTREACH Building homes in Paterson, NJ with Habitat for Humanity; serving and feeding the homeless in NYC and Newark, NJ with Bridges; locally collecting food for the Caldwell Food Pantry; voluntarily serving the community as firefighters and EMTs; Scouting Leadership for boys and girls; Yoga Outreach; and feeding the hungry through our annual community meal packing event RISE AGAINST HUNGER. In addition, outreach to our homebound and those unable to be out due to the pandemic includes phone calls, notes and zoom small caring groups. |
